Connected Equipment Warranty Claims
Surge protectors are designed and manufactured to protect properly connected electrical equipment against spikes and surges. Once a surge protector absorbs to its capacity, it will no longer provide surge protection. Power Sentry®, Newpoint® and PHILIPS surge protectors provide a lifetime warranty against product defects.
Surge protectors that have been damaged while protecting your connected equipment are not considered defective and therefore are not covered under warranty.
FAQ - Warranty Claims
Q: How do I register for the warranty?
A: There is no registration process for the warranty. If you have an
incident where connected equipment is damaged your surge protector will act as proof of purchase. Please
contact us to place a claim under the warranty.
Q: Do I have a warranty claim?
A: That can only be determined by the warranty department. The warranty department
will inspect the surge protector and review the information you supply and contact you within three weeks of receipt of
the surge protector.
Q: How long does the warranty process take?
A: The average turn around time from receipt of damaged surge protector to settlement is three weeks.
Q: What does fair market value (blue book) mean?
A: It is the price at which working used equipment can be purchased from used equipment sellers when
presented to the open market for a reasonable period of time. Power Sentry/Newpoint uses sources such as the Orion Blue Book, UCE.com
reseller and EBAY auction to determine the values, subject to our discretion.
Q: What can I do about personal property damage?
A: Only connected equipment is covered. Personal property damage should be discussed with your
homeowners insurance carrier.
Q: Do you cover data loss?
A: Data loss is not covered, except on select units. Please consult your instruction manual.
Q: Is lightning damage covered?
A: If your surge protector were to be hit by lightning and you do not have any connected equipment
damage, we do not replace the surge protector. The surge protector is designed to protect your connected equipment but had be damaged
while doing so if the lightning hit is severe. If you do have any connected equipment damage, contact us to file a claim.
To file a claim against the Philips Connected Equipment Warranty, you must follow these Claim Procedures:
Step 1
Complete and submit the Connected Equipment Warranty Claim Worksheet.
Step 2
The warranty department will review your Connected Equipment Warranty Claim Worksheet.
Step 3
We will notify you with the status of your claim. If necessary, you will be issued a Return Authorization number (RA#) and instructed
where to send in your surge protector for further review. No returned product will be accepted without the Return Authorization number.
Step 4
Pack the product in a secure box so no further damage occurs. Clearly write the RA# on the outside of the box.
If we determine that you are covered under the Connected Equipment Warranty, and the damage to the equipment was caused by the product
covered under this warranty, we will either authorize you to have the equipment repaired, or we will reimburse you for the fair market value
of the damaged equipment.
The average turn around time from receipt of damaged surge protector to settlement is 3 weeks.
